WINONA, Minn. — When Morris Dennis arrived on the Saint Mary's University of Minnesota campus, Cardinal track and field coach Niels Anderson knew he was destined for great things. He just didn't expect that greatness to come this early. Dennis has certainly kicked off his collegiate career by hitting the ground running—literally—shattering both the Cardinal indoor and outdoor 400 school records, while also winning the conference title in the 400 at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships in early May. And he's not done yet. Dennis will be among the 20 competitors to toe the line on Friday in the preliminaries of the 400 at the NCAA Outdoor National Championships at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y.
