NORTHFIELD, Minn. — Competing in one or two events at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships just wasn't enough for Saint Mary's University of Minnesota sophomore Phil Emmerich (Mondovi, Wis.). Ten events, now that was more to his liking. Emmerich competed in his first-ever conference decathlon Thursday and Friday, placing ninth with a total of 4,772 points.
