WAVERLY, IOWA It was the career ending Alyssa Besch (Apple Valley, Minn. / Eastview) could only dream of. The senior, along with teammate Megan Pohlmann (Grey Eagle, Minn. / Long Prairie-Grey Eagle), qualified to compete at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Outdoor Track and Field Championship as two of the top javelin throwers in the country. The two members of the St. Catherine University track and field team solidified their places as two of the top throwers in the nation Saturday afternoon, as Besch took sixth to earn All-American status while Pohlmann took eleventh at the national meet in Waverly, Iowa, to close out the 2016 outdoor season.
