WINONA, Minn. — It's official—Jovan Newsum (Glendale Heights, Ill.) is an All-MIAC First-Teamer.The Saint Mary's University of Minnesota senior earned his first All-MIAC honor in his final Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference appearance last Saturday—clocking an eight-kilometer time of 26:08 to finish third overall. And on Thursday, the league office confirmed Newsum's honor. The top 15 finishers in last Saturday's MIAC Championships received all-conference honors, while finishers 16-25 received honorable-mention, the league office announced. The Oles led the way with four all-conference runners, while Saint John's, Gustavus and Carleton had three each, and Saint Mary's and St. Thomas each had one. The 15 All-MIAC runners were made up of 10 seniors, four sophomores and one freshman.
